Huawei MateBook E and MateStation X

Yes! I think it's pretty much the same display as the Huawei MateView: https://consumer.huawei.com/en/monitors/mateview/

Is that a 3:2 aspect ratio on the monitor for the desktop?

Which search engine do you use?

Absolutely, Google is a good search engine. There is no question about it. But I don't like their monopoly. And I don't like to give up all my personal information to an ad-company. And I don't like the idea of having personalized search results. That's why I use alternative search engines. DuckDuckGo works just fine for me, even when I search for more local stuff. But I do wish they would improve their Maps features and use something else than Apple maps. I'm sure if Google didn't have a search engine monopoly, they would have been replaced by another, better search engine by now.
  7. At an event in China earlier this week, Huawei announced new devices such as smartwatches, a VR headset, and even a printer. But the two devices that caught my attention were their new Windows powered tablet and all-in-one desktop. Huawei MateBook E MateBook E is Huawei’s new 2-in-1 tablet that looks like a sleeker Microsoft Surface version without the clever and useful kickstand. The new tablet runs Windows 11 and is powered by Intel’s 11-gen core i5 and i7 chipsets. The tablet will have a large 12.6-inch OLED touchscreen with a 2560x1600 pixel resolution that will also support Huawei’s stylus pens. Besides stylus support, Huawei will also offer a smart magnetic keyboard or slide keyboard if you want to be more productive. You will apparently be able to choose between 8 or 16GB LPDDR4x RAM as well as 256 or 512GB PCIe NVMe SSDs. The MateBook E will also have an 8MP front-facing camera and a 13MP shooter around the back. When it comes to I/O availability, you’ll only have access to a single Thunderbolt 4 port, as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The MateBook E also supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. Huawei MateStation X I’ve always wanted a sleek all-in-one desktop Windows PC, but unfortunately, I’ve just never found a good-looking AIO. So far, it seems only Apple has been willing to actually make sleek and beautiful all-in-one desktops, which is a real bummer because I will never get into that walled-in and overly expensive ecosystem. But Huawei’s new MateStation X, which runs Windows 11, looks like just the all-in-one desktop I’ve been longing for. The MateStation X has a large 28.2-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a 3840x2560 pixel resolution, which the Chinese company calls a 4k+ display. The AIO will come in two versions that offers either an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H or a Ryzen 7 5800H processor and Radeon graphics. Both versions will apparently come with 16GB RAM and 512GB M.2 NVMe storage. Huawei is bundling the all-in-one desktop with a wireless keyboard with a built-in fingerprint for fast Windows authentication. You will also be able to choose if you want the MateStation X in white or a darker grey colour. Price and Availability The Huawei MateBook E and MateStation X will go on sale in China in early December, there is no confirmation if and when they'll be available in other markets. Price for the MateBook E tablet could potentially range from $940 for the cheaper version and up to $1365 for the more expensive version. The MateStation X could start at $1570 and go up towards $1880.
  8. I actually went and bought them. I like them, they are in a bit brighter brown colour than in these photos. They are also a bit hard and sturdy around the ankles, more so than I am used to with similar boots. But I am sure they will just become more and more comfortable after I've been using them more thoroughly. I'm definitely satisfied.

  13. Oh my gosh do they actually cost 230 dollars?! Not worth it then IMHO.

    New Movie Trailers

THE BATMAN While I was browsing YouTube, I stumbled upon a trailer for a new Batman movie. I had no idea there was a new Batman movie coming early next year. It looks like it'll have a pretty dark storyline with a more violent and vengeful Batman. Either way, it sure looks promising! The movie is called THE BATMAN🙄 ...and it will be in theaters on March 4, 2022.

    New Movie Trailers

We might soon get to see some new movies, as it seems we are finally putting this pandemic behind us and movie theaters are slowly starting to open up once again. So, let's share new and exciting movie trailers!
  18. Fall is upon us right now, and winter is right around the corner. So I'm looking for a new pair of boots that'll fit the cold and wet weather perfectly. I'm checking out these Seaham boots from Barbour: They sure do look just great, but they are a quite expensive. Hopefully that mean they'll last a couple of years before I need to buy a new pair. I've never had any shoes from Barbour before - just a few shirts, which I've been really satisfied with. Has anyone had a pair? If so, what's your experience with these particular boots - and Barbour overall? What's the quality like? Are they worth nearly $230? Or do you know any other, and better, boots for fall and winter?
  19. Remember those cool 3D-looking emojis that Microsoft used in their promotional materials for Windows 11? Well I got some bad news for you, they ain't coming to Windows 11. Instead, we get some basic (but albeit good-looking) 2D emojis.

    New photo of Mercury

Yeah! I just find these photos so fascinating. It’s so awesome that we can see photos from planets that are so far away from our own Earth. The vastness of space really does put things in perspective.

What music streaming service do you use?

Spotify is great, but I find their app to be clumsy and hard to navigate. I also have a hard time discovering new music with Spotify.

Which search engine do you use?

Just curious, but why haven't you tried another search engine?
  23. Yes, that would work for me as well. 😁
  24. A 4 day weekend would be the best option IMHO
